Welcome to our web page. Redlynch & District WI has the distinction of being the longest standing WI in Wiltshire and, indeed, is the eleventh oldest in the country. We were founded in September 1916 and possess a fascinating archive of written and photographic material from the early years right up to the present day. Times have changed but our principles and aims have not – we believe it is as important as ever for women to have a voice both locally and nationally (see www.thewi.org.uk) and internationally. We have over 40 members from the villages of Redlynch, Lover, Hale, Woodfalls, Morgan’s Vale & Downton. We meet at 2.15pm on the second Wednesday of each month at Morgan’s Vale & Woodfalls Village Hall and after announcements etc. we usually have an interesting speaker or entertainment followed by tea and biscuits

REDLYNCH & DISTRICT WI IN 2019/20
In 2019 we have continued to enjoy a variety of interesting meetings and additional activities, including, in November, a craft morning to make Christmas Decorations.
Our summer outing on July 17th was to Portsmouth. Members and guests had the option of shopping at Gunwharf Quay or visiting the Mary Rose Exhibition, the Historic Dockyard or ascending the Spinnaker Tower. We have also made shorter visits to Rockbourne Roman Villa and Museum and to Waitrose for a cookery demonstration.
The Wiltshire Federation of Women’s Institutes (WFWI) celebrated its centenary this year and in July, some of our members were able to attend a special Service of Thanksgiving in Salisbury Cathedral. We were also represented at the WFWI Annual Meeting, held at the City Hall in Salisbury in October, when each person present received a slice of celebration cake.
In October the Committee organised a very enjoyable Celebration Lunch in Morgan’s Vale and Woodfalls Village Hall.
